Tomorrow we run at Taylor Park. We've decided to run all the girls at 5:00 and all the boys at 5:30 since the JV race is not going to be official. Hope to see you all then!

Disney Waiver and This week's meet

Hi all. Hope this finds you well rested and ready for a great week. Today the runners will be given a waiver form for the Disney meet on October 8th. Please fill this out and return it ASAP even if you are not sure whether or not your child will be running in that race. We have to mail the waivers in this week so your prompt response is greatly appreciated!

For our meet this weekend, please let me know if your child will be riding the bus to the meet or meeting us there. We need to leave Shorecrest by 6:00 AM sharp (Please note this is earlier than originally planned), so plan to be here a few minutes before then. If you plan to meet us at the race, please arrive no less than 45 min. prior to the start of your child's race. All information from the meet directors show that the race times are as follow: Girls Varsity 8AM, Boys Varsity 8:45, Boys JV 9:30, and Girls JV 9:35.

Parent Meeting Update

Thank you to all the parents who attended our meeting yesterday - your support is greatly appreciated! For those of you who were unable to attend, here are the main points we discussed:

• The attached schedule (attached to the email, that is) is the most up to date version. Please note any meets that have a group in parentheses, as only those runners will attend those meets. All other meets will be for the entire team.
• The Middle Division 2 Mile race on Sept. 23rd @ Puryear park will be hosted by the Upper Division runners - all should plan to be in attendance.
• The Varsity Team will consist of our top 7 male and female runners, regardless of their grade level. For our first meet (Sept. 18th) the varsity runners from last season will make up the Varsity Team and any other runners will be notified individually. All others will run the JV race.
• Donations for snacks/drinks for meets can be sent in to Janet Peterson, our team parent. This is being done strictly on a voluntary basis.
• Team T-shirts will be ordered for all team members early next week. Please email me if you DO NOT wish for your child to receive one. The cost will be around $10 and will be billed to your Shorecrest account.
• This year we will travel to Orlando for the Disney meet and return immediately following the races. Parents are welcome to coordinate a sleep over/theme park visit independently.
• Only the Varsity Team will travel to Titusville on October 1st.
• Any runners who wish to drive to meets or ride with other drivers MUST turn in the form from the athletic office prior to our first meet - NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Saturday, Sept. 18th - Runners who wish to ride the bus to Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park should be at Shorecrest by 6:15AM. Please let us know in advance if we should be on the lookout for your child that morning!
• When leaving a meet, please be sure to sign your child out on the clip board that will be located in our team area.
• Please keep my cell phone number handy should you need to reach us during a meet (727) 420-2333.
